Two university forums, one event platform system
Project Overview
Data Forum and Engineering Forum are two full-stack discussion platforms designed to give communities a clean, organized space for meaningful conversations. Built with a strong focus on UI/UX and smooth interactions, both platforms allow users to create topics, join threaded discussions, and engage within categorized sections tailored to their interests. I was responsible for the front-end development and UI/UX design of both projects — from initial wireframes to a fully responsive, animated interface — using Tailwind CSS, JavaScript, and GSAP to bring the design to life.
Problem
Online communities often struggle to find a space that's simple, organized, and focused on their specific interests. Generic social media platforms are cluttered with noise, making it hard to have meaningful, in-depth discussions on technical or niche topics. Existing forum solutions also tend to feel outdated, both in design and user experience, with cluttered layouts and no clear structure for categorizing content. There was a need for a lightweight, modern discussion platform where users could: Easily navigate organized categories relevant to their field Start and follow threaded conversations without distractions Enjoy a clean, responsive interface that works seamlessly across devices Experience smooth, polished interactions rather than a static, clunky UI
Solution
I designed and built two discussion platforms — Data Forum and Engineering Forum — that address this gap by offering a clean, organized, and engaging space for focused conversations. Structured categories allow users to quickly find and join discussions relevant to their interests Threaded replies keep conversations organized and easy to follow, even in active discussions Responsive design ensures a consistent, smooth experience across desktop and mobile devices GSAP-powered animations add subtle, polished interactions that make the interface feel alive without being distracting Simple, intuitive UI/UX built with Tailwind CSS reduces friction and helps users focus on the content, not the interface The result is a lightweight yet modern platform that balances functionality with a refined user experience — proving that a discussion forum doesn't have to feel outdated to be effective.
